Meri Harris has been grooming at the Featherle Sterling salon since 2005. She has become an invaluable member of a strong and cooperative team. Her expertise is in hand scissoring. Grooming is not just a job to her; it’s a form of refuge and meditation. Pets can provide a portal to understanding more of life’s ‘intangibles’ and mysteries by way of the heart. Meri appreciates the very different personalities and styles inherent in each breed along with the characters and various eccentricities present in the individual pet. Her ‘favorite’ breeds include Schnauzers, Standard Poodles, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Teacup Poodles.

Once a certified Paralegal, Meri left the stressful environment of law to groom. She still thrives on challenges and enjoys grooming exotic breeds, the ‘oddballs’, and also loves grooming cats.

In addition to her love of animals, Meri has achieved other diversified skills. She is studying for her pastoral ordination, and is currently working as a Lay Counselor in marital and parental relationships. Deeply spiritual, she embraces that which cannot be ‘explained’ through intellectual analysis. She is also a musician and a classically trained Soprano.

Meri lives in Sterling with her husband, two children and a Schnauzer named Bentley. She also has a daughter living in Columbia Maryland.
