Brushing, Combing, and De-Matting. Students will be instructed on how to handle the various types of coats, how to strip a dog, what to do with a dog that has stained hair, and the proper removal of mats.
Glossary of Dog Terminology. Students will be given a new list of forty words per week, on which they will be tested.
First Aid. Instruction will be given to students on CPR, how to handle situations in which a dog or cat has been injured, and methods on proper restraint and transportation to the nearest medical facility. We will also cover how to deal with bleeding, heat stress, fractures, poisoning, etc.
Diseases.
Students will be taught about the various types of diseases such as
Rabies, Hepatitis, Parvo Virus, and Canine Tracheobronchitis. Eye, ear,
and teeth disorders, along with how to recognize, treat and prevent
problems will be taught.
