As the manager of our busy Sterling location of Featherle Pet Care, Angela Salive is always looking out for the well being of your beloved pets, her staff, the pets’ owners, and even the future of the company. She graduated from Canine Clippers School of Pet Grooming and has been with Featherle since 1999. When she isn’t busy grooming or managing the salon, she is combing through grooming magazines and the internet for fresh new ideas.Angela confesses to being partial to West Highland Terriers, and in 2001 she took a 2nd Place Award at the MAPP Competition. She specializes in grooming Double Coated breeds, i.e. Collies, Shelties and Golden Retrievers.St. Francis of Assisi taught that animals are entrusted to man’s stewardship. Angela emphasizes that the salon is not a factory operation, and maintaining a reputation for compassion, gentleness and kindness greatly outweighs the “perfect haircut”. She especially finds fulfillment in knowing how to keep older dogs, suffering from arthritis, comfortable and free of pain.Another standard to be maintained is the store’s reputation for success with pets other professionals have given up on. During her career, Angela has turned away only one dog. Veterinarians refer difficult and hard to handle pets because they know of the staff’s ability to build a lasting relationship with a troubled pet. Angela was born and grew up in Southern California, where her grandmother raised Silky Terriers. She lives in Leesburg and has three teenaged children. She also shares her home with her husband Matthew Salive (Assistant Manager of the Sterling Store) and their Chow mix, Rusty.
